After seeing these hardcore heroes in berlin, I took a look at this amazing book which I read a few years ago and still read at times. And you know what ? There are interviews with Walter Schreifels, Arthur Smilios and Drew Thomas, which I find amazing since more than 20 years after their hardcore days, they are still here playing some of the best music around and following their own path. I can say that these guys are very inspirationnal for me, that's for sure. How to stay the same through the changes. This is what life is all about. But back to the subject, this is a very essential book, not only on the Revelation bands of the 80's but on what hardcore was all about and I guess on what true music is all about. Straight-edge is the subject but it opens to a whole new world of understanding. These guys were pionneers, they gave hardcore its true meaning, much more than the early wave. At least, this is my point of view.

J'ai d'abord pensé à Youth Of Today, qui sont mes héros, mais en me rappelant tes billets, j'ai finalement compris que tu voulais parler de Gorilla Biscuits. C'est marrant, j'adore lire des bouquins sur le hardcore, contrairement à ceux qui ont vécu ça de près, et j'ai souvent eu l'occasion d'acheter celui-là, mais ça c'est jamais fait. Je me suis toujours demandé de quoi ça parlait, et surtout si le bon Ian y était. C'est lui qui me fascine en fait. Et Youth Of Today. Tu sais qu'ils vont passer en Europe (donc pas très loin de la (F)rance...)? Je sais que j'y serais pas, mais même avec vingt ans de retard, ça me poserait pas de problème de les voir. C'est de la nostalgie assumée. Vu que tu bouges, si tu as cette occasion et que tu hésites, je t'encourage à y aller, rien que pour raconter.
